Travel the Combat Paths of the US Army in the ETO and MTO during World War II

Combat Paths Armored Divisions M3 Halftrack M3 Lee North Africa Operation Torch

A Combat Path chronology is a great tool tracing the travels of your family’s WW II veteran

from the time he stepped on the continent until VE Day.

Combat Paths are day-by-day chronologies of selected armored divisions of the United States through Europe and North Africa. THESE ARE NOT NARRATIVES, but a listing of dates, places and units (to company level when available) beginning with the first day the division sets foot on the European or African continent and ending on May 9, 1945.

This project’s goal is for each regiment and battalion within the division to have a company level chronology. This is a very ambitious endeavor and there will probably never be a division with 100 percent of its combat companies accounted for every day of its overseas assignment. This is, however, a continuing effort during which new material will be added as it becomes available. The size of each division’s chronology (including the bibliography) ranges from between around 200 and 400 pages.
